We had a damp cruise to Garstang today passing a couple of fields with Alpaca's instead of the usual sheep.

As we left Lancaster we saw the last of the wonderful houses and tonight we are moored outside the Aquavista marina in Galgate, this is officially the start of our journey home.

We paid a visit to Lancaster Castle which was a prison as well and is owned by the King.


Lancaster is a very old city full of interesting architecture.

After speaking to several boaters who have stayed in Lancaster have not had any bad experiances so we have decided to stay for a couple of days.


Yesterday we cruised on to Hest Bank following the coastline and passing someones garden where they have forgot to take down the Halloween Decorations.

Today we moved on to Carnforth and whilst cruising we saw a sign for a Railway Museum so after mooring up we paid a visit and the Station is famous for a scene in the film Brief Encounter, and by luck there was a steam train heading for Scotland.

Today we took the bus to Kendal to do some shopping and after shopping whats best but to take the dogs to the Longlands Hotel and have a drink or two.

That's another waterway crossed off the map one of many that we have done over the years.


This is the canal from the other side of the M6 bridge.


We have made it to the end of the Lancaster Canal and there is a few pictures of our neighbours, the M6 bridge was built so low it cuts the canal in two ruling out restoration.

Yesterday we moved on to Carnforth between showers, it started to rain early hours this morning and has not stopped since, so apart from shopping this is the only view we have seen today.

On our way to Hest Bank another boater told us we had to vist the Micro Pub called The Crossing, so yesterday a short walk to the sea front it was lunch in the cafe and then a couple pints in The Crossing and spending time with the friendly locals.

Yesterday we decided to walk into Morecambe only to find a tired seaside town but had to see the statue of Eric Morecambe, but found a nice Cafe for lunch and a nice park to enjoy an ice cream how the rich live.
