Thursday 27 July 2017

The views from our window the last couple of days.

Tuesday 25 July 2017

Tonight we said goodbye to Jack and George and the black swan came to say hello as we missed an opportunity to photograph it earlier in the day.
Also tonight Cassie thought she would give me a cuddle as I sat on the front steps.

As Peter is still trying to sort out our battery problem we travel out of Oxford and start our journey back.
Whilst in Oxford Diane and Peter's grand children joined us for a couple of days to travel on their boat.

Thursday 20 July 2017

Have not  been able to post lately as we ran out of data.
Today we made it to Oxford and celebrated Diane's and Peter's wedding anniversary with a Thai meal.

Saturday 15 July 2017

Tonight we are moored in Banbury after an arduous journey because the top pound on the Oxford Canal was very short of water.
This has caused hold ups at locks and difficulty passing boats.

Wednesday 12 July 2017

We have had one of those days as we travelled from Braunston to Napton.
First Hilary lost the water filler cap and the key to open it over board, then as Hilary was on the tiller a boat tried to come through a bridge hole the same time as us.
Then as we approached another bridge hole Ruby came running to the back of the boat and didn't manage to stop and fell over board.

Last two days have been spent in Braunston after travelling through Braunston tunnel

Sunday 9 July 2017

Today we had the canal version of a traffic jam as we had an one hour delay at Watford Locks.
Watford Locks are single stair case locks so boats are regulated by a lock keeper and only a number of boats are allowed to travel down the locks at one time.

Saturday 8 July 2017

Whilst Hilary was in Crick shopping Peter snapped this picture.
We have travelled through Crick tunnel today but before we did Hilary called into the village for supplies where there was a Scarecrow/music festival.
We finished the day with a BBQ on the towpath.

Friday 7 July 2017

Since leaving Foxton we have been in poor signal area and hopefully cruising into civilisation the next few days.

Wednesday 5 July 2017

We moved on today and cruised up Foxton Locks, we were lucky in that despite travelling from Market Harborough we managed to get to Foxton before seven other boats arrived.

Monday 3 July 2017

Tonight we are moored in Market Harborough and will be here for a day or so to take on supplies before we travel back to Foxton Locks to head for the Grand Union.
