Yesterday afternoon we took a walk near Shugborough Hall and today we have moved on to Weston on Trent we have not moored here before.

Today also would have been Dad's birthday

Great afternoon spent with Cherry and Neil firstly lunch in the Garden centre and followed by a few drinks in the Clifford Arms.

Yesterday we left Kings Bromley Marina stopping off in Rugeley to restock and then moved on to Great Haywood to meet Cherry and Neil for lunch and perhaps a few beers.

This morning we started off just down the canal from the Huddlesford Junction now the home Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Trust.

Seemed starnge to cruise through Fradley Junction nd not stop but we were not far from Kings Bromley Marina where we are booked in for a few days.

Tonight we decided moor out in the country before travelling on to Fradley Junction tomorrow.

Today we left Peels Wharf after taking on supplies and giving the boat a wash.

The first two photograhs show the view from the aquaduct as we approached Peels Wharf (Fazeley) on Sunday afternoon there were a few places to moor, the last two show the moorings at 5pm tonight and there are just three boats here and a fisherman.

So we had to carry on cruising and moored in a place that we have never moored before and moored in a place called Amington which is another mining town.

When we moored Cassie didn't realise it was time for her next injection which was carried out successfully.

We left the bottom lock at Bradely Green this morning and cruised through Polesworth which was a coalmining town hoping to moor just outside Alvecote Marina.

Learnt the lesson take the first mooring space you see as it could be the last one which it was.

I made it to Atherstone and Hilary arrived after dropping the car off, after topping up with supplies we have travelled down the locks to moor up at the bottom.

A few locks were in our favour and then we started talking to someone alking the towpath and he helped us through the rest.

Today I moved on to Atherstone passing the Alpaca Farm where it looks like they had a young one, had my first complaint of travelling too fast past moored boats despite being in tickover.

Crepted up on two fishermen as I was on tickover and they didn't hear me coming.

Springwood Haven tonight this is where The Maisibert got her new paint job and battery system.

A cold journey today both dogs were with me at first but Cassie thought the sofa would be more comfortable, I passed the entrance to the Ashby Canal our last trip with Plan B was on that canal.

As I approached Nuneaton what used to be a countryside mooring overlooking a farm now looks like the last few pictures, we are finding it more like this on the canals especially with HS2.

Before Hilary took the car back to Essex she stopped off at the wooded area to take a picture as I passed and then travelled on Rose Narrowboats to open the swing bridge.

Today the Summer Trip 2023 has started.
