The summer trip is finally over as we returned to the marina today arriving just as it started to pour but at least the wind dropped to allow us to moor with no problems.

Sunday, 17 September 2023

Today we travelled through our last lock for this summer's trip travelling on to moor near Ansty Golf Course where the other third of the boat was washed.

Yesterday we travelled up the rest of Atherstone locks and passed the usual show at Charity Wharf on to Hawkesbury Junction, as the weather was nice two thirds of the boat got a wash.

Friday, 15 September 2023

Today we travelled on to Atherstone coming up six locks to moor halfway to drop off an alternator for repair.

Last couple of days we have moored at Tamworth and today we had lunch with Paul and his dad who now resides in Tamworth, it was Paul's dad that cleared The Maisibert of the old ballast when it arrived in Stoke.

The top three photo's show the scar of HS2 at Fradley where there is going to be a bridge crossing the Trent and Mersea, then entering the A38 bridge a boat entered so I reverse out only for that boat to be followed by two others.

Sunday, 10 September 2023

Cruised on today stopping off in Rugely for supplies passing someone's garden where they spend a lot time putting things together, had planned to be on the Coventry Canal tonight but was held up by two very slow boats so gave up at the top lock on the Fradely Flight.

A few pictures from yesterday, we had a few spectators as we cruised by.

Saturday, 9 September 2023

Nice to see the mist on the fields after an early start, as we travelled we passed the junction of the Stafford Link currently being restored.
We then had to travel further than expected as towpath improvements have reduced the nice places to moor so now we are on the Trent and Mersey near Shugborough.

Yesterday we started our journey on the Staff's and Worcester Canal firstly tackling Pendeford Rocking this where the canal is cut through the Limestone single file with passing places, then passing the Round House travelling down the locks into Penkridge completing a five hour journey.
