Tonight we moored at Windsor after a wet cruise, but the weather improved before Hilary's friends Denise and Stuart paid a visit this afternoon.

After picking Craig up at Marlow we travelled through Henley where the preparations were being carried out for the Regatta next week.
The day was completed with a BBQ on the river bank.

On Friday we finally left the K.A. and headed down the Thames mooring on the banks at Poplar Eyot where the mandarin ducks decided to join us on the boat.

We have completed the K&A as at Hungerford is how far we got two years ago.
On this part of the trip we have come across the only few turf sided locks that are classed as National Monuments.
Tonight we are moored in Reading near the prison.

Tonight we are moored in Newbury and we thought Cassie was ready for the ducks that were swimming on the cut but we were wrong it was the cat on the cruiser across the way.

Today Peter's mum called to see us on her way home from a holiday in Devon.
I have not been able to update the blog as we had used all our data usage.
We have had a slow and boring cruise as the amount of long term moored boats has meant we only averaged 2miles an hour.
But the high light was having a BBQ on a peaceful towpath with no cyclists roaring past.

Happy Birthday Dianne
Today we celebrated Dianne's birthday with birthday cake and tea on the towpath followed by a great Italian meal tonight.

Whilst Dianne and Peter's grandson Jack was aboard he wanted to try out his new fishing rod that his parents had bought when we moored up.
After a little while he managed pull out a fish to everyone's surprise.
 WE DONE IT!!!
Yesterday we completed the Caen Hill Locks in one day.
We completed thirty two locks in one day mostly done with the two boats tied together which gave us a crew of three preparing the locks.
We got to Devizes Wharf last night knackered.

Saturday, 13 June 2015

Today we joined by Dianne and  Peter's grandson for his first trip on his grand parents boat.
As we have travelled along the Kennet and Avon our progress has been hampered by the number of boats moored meaning we have to be on tick over for most of the time.
But it has punctuated with beautiful sights like the aquaduct left over the river Avon.

Friday, 12 June 2015

Today we are moored in the pretty town of Bradford on Avon.
At lunch time we met up with Heather and David friends of Diane and Peter.
After lunch in the pub we took a wander around the town.

Today we headed out of Bath as two duck took a rest as we watered up.
We left Bath going through the iconic cast iron bridges.
The day finished with our first BBQ of the season despite sitting in the middle of the cyclists race track which has prompted an email to C.A.R.T.

Tonight we met with Beryl and she took us to the George Inn  that I visited when she first moved to Bath.

Yesterday we celebrated my birthday with an Italian meal where the restuarant sang Happy Birthday

Yesterday we cruised into the city of Bath mooring between locks as the town moorings have been closed to redeveloped.
