Today we discovered the Covered Market where we managed to stock up with some fantastic meats for dinners.
Hilary followed the walk around the city with an open top bus tour.

Thursday we moved on to Oxford where we are going to stay for a few days.
Today we said our farewell's to Yvonne and Dave after lunch in the Punter Pub as they travel on to Lechlade.
Wednesday night we moored near Iffley Lock woken early by the rower's getting ready at 7.30am.

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

What a difference a day makes this morning we woke up to sunshine.
The bottom picture shows Muneham House which was about the only highlight of today.
Last couple days have been very wet as we travelled on to Abingdon, we think now we are in the boring bit of the Thames.

Sunday, 24 August 2014

Tonight we are moored Wallingford after last nights perfect mooring, tonight we moored to three trees and have to climb a bank to get to the towpath.

Saturday, 23 August 2014

Tonight we are moored at Beale Park just squeezing in on one of the last mooring spots.
But what a mooring spot.

It is Reading Festival weekend and we passed the crowds as we travelled through.

Friday, 22 August 2014

Today Ray had to leave us early due to a power failure to the swing bridge at Theale  a team from C.A.R.T. had to swing the bridge by hand, I think it was mainly because some of their plant couldn't move.
Tonight we are moored in Reading which has been very busy as it is the Reading Festival this weekend.

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

Today we moored in Henley on Thames famous for its regatta and its gold medal winner's in the Olympics and Para Olympics.

Last night we were moored in Marlow the bridge is still a fantastic sight, it used to be lit up at night but now it just has a few street lights.

Sunday, 17 August 2014

As last nights party ended in a punch up we have moved on to just outside Windsor where the neighbours are just a little more well heeled.

Saturday, 16 August 2014

Today we picked Ray up at Staines and we are moored at Runnymede but the neighbours are a little noisy as the video shows ( need to turn your sound on).
As the storm clouds gather as we approach Godalming which is the end of the navigation, we then we start our return journey but having a delay as we had to wait for RCR to attend Dave and Yvonnes boat as their alternator bolts broke.
Our first stop on the Wey was Guildford where we spent an evening with Hilary's cousins Helen and Colin and we said goodbye to Craig on Thursday.

The last few days we have travelled the River Wey with Craig aboard being captain most of the time which allowed me to take in the scenery.

Tuesday, 12 August 2014

Today we have moved on to Weybridge and tomorrow we start our way down the rive Wey
Last night we moored at Teddington where the sunset was breath taking.
Monday we left sunny Brentford to go on the tidal Thames once more to go to Teddington only to find the Thames even worse than the Sunday with high winds and rough water's.

With the threat of Hurricane winds and rain and a professional pilot trying to put us off we decided to tackle the tidal Thames.
With Craig and Peter at the helm we had a very bumpy start but things soon settled and we had an uneventful trip into Brentford.

With Dave and Sue aboard we travelled to Limehouse to get ready for our trip up the tidal Thames.
