Today Hilary took a turn on the tiller as we approached Bugbrooke.

Cassie enjoyed her walk from where we moored for the night until we were picked up at Nether Heyford.
On the walk we endured the wrath of fishermen involved in a major fishing match.

Cassie woke us up at 1.30am this morning just as a boat cruised by.
Hilary felt sorry for the Canadian geese freezing in the moonlight.
This morning we felt sorry as the frost was on their backs.
It only took several hours to realise that these Canadian Geese were plastic.

We had a bad start to the day, but all ends well with a beautiful sunset this evening.

It was great to be cruising again and in the winter sun as well.

This weekend we have Craig staying and he has not lost his helmsman skills.

Last night (Thursday) we met Maria and Paul(behind the camera) from Heartwood Narrowboats who completed our boat nearly 2 years ago and who have become close friends.

The bird we think has been identified as a peregrine.

Paul from narrowboat Margaret noticed this bird sitting in a tree opposite our boats.

It was a great sight as balloon drifted towards Northampton.

As Sue and Dave were with us for the weekend we decided to send up the final balloon.
So despite the rain we managed to get the balloon air born.

The ice was a little thicker than we thought but we finally made it.

Saturday as the ice was thinning we decided to go ice breaking to get to the water point.
It was decided to tie two boats abreast and use the reverse gear on one boat to draw the water from under the ice whilst the other broke the ice with its bow.

This weekend Sue and Dave visited us and as we were frozen in we enjoyed the winter sun by taking Cassie for a walk.

I have just had my first attempt at making bread pudding, thanks to Al and Del from Derwent 6 for the recipe.

This cache was hidden in a tree on the tow path, we did not manage to find the second cache.

Geocaching is finding hidden items by down loading clues and co-ordinates for the local area from the internet and finding them using G.P.S.

I am a bit behind with posting as we have had signal problems.
To complete a great weekend with Al and Del from Derwent6 we went Geocaching along the towpath at Buckby/Norton Junction.

I dont think the hose should go there!!!!
As we wait to find another hose to connect together so that we can fill the boats with water, we have no choice but to transfer the water in containers.

To get water to the boats iced in opposite the water point was to pass the hose across the frozen canal.

Don is sure that he can walk on water or is he.

The Maisibert on our winter moorings at Weedon after overnight snow showers.
Cassie enjoying her walk in the snow, only trouble she tries to catch the snow flakes as they fall.

This is Weedon Church as we walked to the shops the other day.

Always in our thoughts

As a tribute to Hilary's Mum and my parents we thought we would launch a couple of Chinese lanterns in their memory.

New Years day and the weather is perfect for walking away the cobwebs.
So we take Cassie for a long walk along the Nene Way.

The Weedon boating fraternity see in 2010 at The Narrowboat Inn.

Cassie enjoyed her Christmas too.

Craig enjoyed his Christmas present of beer.
