As we take Intrepid to have the bottom blacked we encounter dust storms as the soil is eroded from the parched fields.

Rita showing the British (Canadian) spirit and be damned we will have a bbq.

Before we handed the boat over to Mavis and John we managed to have our first BBQ of the year with Rita and Scooby.

The next day we moved on to Braunston and Hilary cruised her first tunnel.

We met Rita and Scooby for a couple of games nights before moving off to prepare for Mavis and John who are taking the boat for a few days.

Ray cruised us through the locks and we moored at Norton Junction where we finished the day in the New Inn with a meal and a drink.

Elaine took us from Weedon to Buckby locks passing the unfortunate sight of a burnt out canal boat.

We have started this summers cruise with the help of Ray,Craig, Elaine and Sacha

Just like a scene from a Crocodile Dundee film fighting my way through bushes, over barb wired fence and hanging from a tree.
Just to get Cassie's ball which she had dropped into the river and was afraid to retrieve.

How far would you go for your dog?

Sunday, 20 March 2011

Where we moored for the night it was nice and quiet and this gave Cassie a chance to play ball as presently she is in season.

Hooray the sun is shining and we have decided to take a trip to Gayton Junction and back for the weekend.
This is my first time cruising the boat since breaking my wrist as it has been left to Hilary and others.

Thursday, 17 March 2011

We have had a bad day today, Hilary put on the washing machine and damaged the domestic alternator.
Then this afternoon as she stepped off the boat she slipped and fell into the canal.

On Thursday we caught up with Al and Del from Derwent 6 at the New Inn.
On Monday of this week we also managed to catch up with Penny and Mic from our sister boat Intrepid.

Since we have been moored at Weedon we have found a few walks where Cassie can play ball.
After playing ball she enjoys a walk in the stream.
