This was the last lock of the day yesterday ending in a five hour cruise.

Saturday, 11 June 2022

After reaching Penkridge and picking up supplies a quick visit to the Boat Pub for refreshments.
We passed the site which is being restored to connect Stafford to the Staffs and Worcs canal.
We also passed under the M5 and M6 a couple of times.

We left Tixall today and had a slow slog because of low water heading to Penkridge

Yesterday we stayed at Tixall as Claire had an unexpected court date so decided to stay where we were.
The only visitors we had was a family of swans.

We had planned to moor at Tixal wide, we have noticed that in popular mooring spots that they have restricted mooring to two days, as a result long term moorers are pushed out to other area's which means instead of being moored on Tixal wide we are moored on Tixal narrow.

Last night for my birthday celebration we booked in a place we have passed many times and said one day we would call in.
Yesterday presented the chance to moor outside and enjoy an Italian meal.

Wednesday, 8 June 2022

This morning we had planned a two hour journey but because we had to come down the lock to moor we had to travel to Alrewas to turn the boat so ended updoing a five hour journey.
At least we saw this years art display as you enter Alrewas.

After a morning shopping we left Fazely taking a pretty cruise to Fradley Junction where we encountered no mooring on the Coventry Arm.
So the only option was to turn right go down one lock and moor heading to Alrewas.

Monday our journey took through ex mining country to Peels Wharf Fazely Junction.
We have moored here lots of times but never seen it empty of boats we could have pratically moored any where.

Sunday, 5 June 2022

Todays trip was delayed due to the wet weather so setting off in the afternoon we travelled down Atherstone Locks.
Missed the teamwork of Plan B.

Saturday, 4 June 2022

They know how to celebrate the Jubilee in Atherstone.

They never fail to change the garden display at Charity dock, the Queen was in presence but I couldn't hold the camera and cruise past moored boats.

A few pictures taken by Hilary as I cruised passed the wooded area near the marina, Hilary drove on to Rose Narrowboat to open the small swing bridge stopping off in Brinklow to pick up supplies.
